Nutrition brand makes bold move into British basketball
Trailblazing performance nutrition brand The Turmeric Co. is hoping its best shots can boost one of British basketball’s biggest names.
Founded by professional athlete Thomas Robson-Kanu, the fast-growing firm is setting the pace in the evolving world of sports performance.
And a new partnership with Super League Basketball franchise Leicester Riders marks a first move into the UK’s biggest team sport behind football.
“We’re thrilled to be Leicester’s Official Recovery Partner for the remainder of the 2025/26 season,” said Thomas.
“The Riders are a team with a proud history and a culture built on excellence, resilience and consistency at the highest level of British basketball.
“This partnership marks our first step into the sport in the UK — making it an especially exciting moment for us at The Turmeric Co.”
The Riders, founded in 1967, are one of the most successful clubs in British basketball history and won the 2025 Playoff title at a packed O2 Arena in London last summer.
The club’s community programme impacts upon thousands of young people every year and Leicester’s 3,000-seater Mattioli Arena has become an essential hub for groups across the city since opening in 2016.
“I’m proud to bring our range to a club that shares our commitment to performance and wellbeing,” added Thomas.
“Our shots have become a trusted part of preparation and recovery across elite sport, helping athletes recover faster and feel their best on and off the court.
“But our products aren’t just for professional athletes — they’re for anyone looking to support their body naturally and feel their best every day.
“We’re excited to help the Leicester Riders fanbase discover how our shots can support their health too.”
Leicester currently sit sixth in the Super League Basketball standings and host Manchester on Sunday following an 85-73 win against Bristol Flyers in their final fixture of 2025.
The club’s partnership with The Turmeric Co. is part of an ongoing commitment to player welfare, performance and holistic athlete care.
Players across the Riders’ roster will have access to a range of performance-focused turmeric shots designed to support recovery, reduce inflammation and enhance overall wellbeing.
