Bosses cheer investment as park nears capacity
Commercial hub bosses have hailed the impact of a seven-figure investment after tenancy numbers nudged towards peak level.
Traynor Business Park, in Peterlee, east Durham, is 95 per cent full.
Operator North East Commercial says the rise follows a major cash injection that has transformed the hub from “a state of disrepair… to a high-quality business park”.
The base includes three centres that collectively employ around 500 people.
Traynor House is home to Redu, Knauf, North East Learning Trust and recruitment company JDR, while Traynor Hub houses water company Everflow and Traynor North is part-occupied by organisations including the NHS, Asbestos Audit and MW Lift.
Andy Rothwell, North East Commercial co-director, said: “When we acquired the site, we knew it had real potential to become a thriving hub.
“But we also knew there was a lot of work ahead.
“The site was in a real state of disrepair, so we had to look beyond that and be able to visualise what it could look like with the right investment and commercial acumen.
“We’ve created a high-quality business park and an environment that provides businesses with the home-from-home feel that is so important.
“We’re incredibly proud of that.”
Brian Thompson, fellow North East Commercial co-director, added: “We pride ourselves on our flexibility to meet the needs of each tenant.
“We know office space isn’t one size fits all, so we work with organisations to make the space truly fit for purpose.
“It’s what’s helped us attract such a diverse mix of clients.”
