Avison Young appoints flex director
Global commercial real estate advisor Avison Young has appointed Alexandra Gathercole as a director in its London Markets team.
Alexandra joins the business as a flexible workspace specialist, strengthening Avison Young’s flex advisory offering for occupiers, operators and landlords across the capital.
She arrives from Stirling Ackroyd, where she was head of flexible workspace, advising clients on acquiring, managing and delivering flexible workspace solutions.
Prior to that, Alexandra spent more than seven years at JLL, most recently as a director, working with businesses ranging from start-ups to global corporates across the City and West End.
Alexandra said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Avison Young as flexible workspace continues to play a much bigger role in long-term real estate strategies.
“The firm has a strong reputation for forward-thinking advice and I’m excited to work with our clients on both occupier and landlord side as they navigate the evolving flexible workspace market.”
Alexandra’s appointment comes as demand for flexible and managed workspace solutions remains strong across London, with occupiers and landlords increasingly seeking adaptable, resilient property strategies.
James Walker, principal, London Markets and head of London office leasing at Avison Young, added:“Alex’s arrival significantly strengthens our flex capability in London.
“She brings a rare combination of operator, landlord and occupier insight, which is critical as flexible and managed workspace becomes embedded in mainstream leasing strategies.
“We’re seeing flex play a much more strategic role across portfolios and transactions, and Alex’s experience will be invaluable as we help clients navigate that shift with confidence.”
