Drinks firm looks to shake things up after buyout
A drinks and events firm has entered a new chapter after completing a management buyout and delivering its strongest trading months to date.
Mix & Twist, founded in 2013 by James Abbott, was bought late last year by three long-serving team members.
Since the deal, the Leeds-based business recorded its best-ever November and December, building on a £1 million turnover in 2024 and delivering around 150 events annually.
Now led by managing director Millie Graham alongside regional directors Conor Abbott and Dan Wood, the company plans to expand beyond event delivery into full-service experiences and consultancy.
Recent work includes cocktail development for Twinings, with recipes served onboard Virgin Atlantic flights.
From mobile bar beginnings, Mix & Twist now supports major brands including Google, Red Bull, Amazon and L’Oréal, with ambitions to grow the brand internationally.
Millie said: “We’re incredibly proud to continue what James started and to lead Mix & Twist into its next chapter.
“This business has always been built on flair, imagination and energy, and those values will continue to guide us.
“Our focus is on delivering exceptional experiences for our clients and building a company that makes its mark not just regionally, but nationally and beyond.”
