DoubleTree Manchester Piccadilly appoints new general manager
DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly has appointed Alistair Campbell as general manager, bringing nearly 30 years of hospitality experience to the city centre hotel.
Alistair began his career in the industry at 18 and has since held general manager roles at a number of leading UK hotels, most recently The Queens Hotel in Leeds.
Now based in Manchester, where he has lived for 12 years, he previously led Park Inn by Radisson Manchester City Centre and Radisson Blu Manchester Airport.
With earlier experience working with Hilton in Scotland, the move marks a return to the brand.
Operated by Valor Hospitality and owned by ProsperCap, the hotel forms part of a UK portfolio of 40 properties.
In his new role, Alistair will focus on guest satisfaction, team engagement and financial performance.
Alistair said: “Opportunities to become general manager of a hotel like DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly are rare.
“As a key player in the city centre, the hotel is perfectly located and renowned for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
“I am fortunate to be joining a business that is already thriving, thanks to the exceptional team and leadership of the previous general manager.
“I now look forward to building on this success, driving the team forward, and ensuring the hotel continues to be a highly respected presence in this incredible city.”
Alistair added: “At this point in my career, my next role was really important to me.
“I knew I had to be working with the right company that invests in its people.
“I’m happy to say I have found that with Valor.
“It has a great reputation within the industry, and I can certainly see why.”
Brian McCarthy, Valor Hospitality’s UK president, added: “Alistair is a well-respected, experienced and high-quality general manager.
For a hotel like DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly, we needed a general manager who understands the city, has a passion for hospitality and can deliver great results for the hotel’s owners.
“Alistair fits this description perfectly.
“He is leading a great hotel that we’re all proud of, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he can support his very capable team in this new phase.”
