Magnet appoints two senior directors
Kitchen specialist Magnet has appointed Rupert Nichols as customer and commercial director and Guy Tooth as supply chain director as it strengthens its leadership team.
The UK-based retailer, headquartered in Darlington, is accelerating its three-year growth plan following its transition to a standalone business under new ownership.
Rupert brings more than 15 years of senior leadership experience across retail and ecommerce, having held roles at Toolstation, Studio Retail, Dixons Carphone and Sainsbury’s.
He will lead Magnet’s customer and commercial teams, focusing on enhancing its customer proposition and driving growth.
Rupert said: “With a strong foundation and a talented team already in place, I’m really looking forward to being part of the next phase of the Group’s journey.
“Magnet is a strong brand with a trusted reputation, supported by long-standing partnerships with our suppliers.
“My focus will be on building on those strengths while ensuring even more homeowners discover the brand and experience what makes our kitchens so special.”
Guy joins with more than 15 years’ experience in supply chain and operations, having worked at Greencore, Morrisons and PepsiCo, and most recently at Moores Furniture Group.
He will oversee Magnet’s supply chain strategy and operational performance.
Guy Tooth added: “I’m really pleased to be joining Magnet at such an exciting point in its journey.
“The business has already made great progress, and there’s a clear opportunity to now build on that by strengthening how our UK supply chain supports both our customers and our growth ambitions.
“I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and continuing to strengthen our manufacturing and delivery capabilities to ensure we deliver even greater value for our customers.”
Sophie Rose, chief executive of Magnet Group, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Rupert and Guy to our business.
“Rupert brings strong commercial leadership and will play a key role in helping us continue to grow while staying firmly focused on delivering a high-quality experience for our customers.
“At the same time, our British manufacturing and heritage remain a real strength for us. With Guy’s hands-on manufacturing experience and deep knowledge of the KBB industry, he will play an important role in shaping a supply chain that’s fit for the future and supports our wider growth ambitions.”
