Emmaus Merseyside appoints chief executive
Sefton-based homelessness charity Emmaus Merseyside has appointed Paul Malone as chief executive.
Paul joins the organisation with leadership experience spanning charities, higher education and social enterprises, having previously held senior roles with the University of Greater Manchester, Edge Hill University Students’ Union and YMCA.
In his new role, he will lead the charity’s organisational development, partnerships and support pathways as Emmaus Merseyside continues its work helping people overcome homelessness.
Paul said: “I’m delighted to be joining Emmaus Merseyside and to have the opportunity to lead such an inspiring organisation.
“Emmaus does life-changing work, supporting people to overcome homelessness with dignity, purpose and community at its heart.
“I’m looking forward to working with staff, companions, volunteers and partners to build on this strong foundation and help shape the charity’s next chapter.”
Emmaus Merseyside provides accommodation, training and employment opportunities through its residential community in Sefton, alongside operating a charity superstore, coffee shop and community garden.
Jo Henney, chair of Emmaus Merseyside, added: “Emmaus Merseyside has always been about restoring dignity, creating opportunity and building community.
“I am delighted to welcome our new chief executive Paul and look forward to supporting the organisation’s continued growth and impact across our region.”
