Flemingate appoints new centre manager

East Yorkshire retail and leisure destination Flemingate has appointed Amy Whittaker as centre manager as the Beverley development welcomes new occupiers and celebrates growing visitor numbers.

Amy brings almost 20 years’ experience in shopping centre management, including seven years at Manchester's Trafford Centre and three years at Merry Hill.

She most recently worked at The Potteries Centre in Stoke-on-Trent, progressing to general manager in 2020 and centre director in 2024.

Recruited by Flemingate owner and operator Wykeland Group, Amy will lead day-to-day operations, strengthen relationships with tenants and act as the public face of the centre as it approaches full occupancy.

She said: “I’m excited to work closely with our tenants and to play an active role in the events and activities that make Flemingate such an important and popular destination. 

“My focus is on building relationships, streamlining processes and continually improving the experience for both our tenants and visitors to the centre.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the centre, delivering growth and enhancing Flemingate’s contribution to the economy and community in Beverley.”

Amy’s appointment forms part of Wykeland Group’s enhanced operating model across its retail portfolio, strengthening Flemingate's on-site leadership as the centre welcomes new occupiers and continues to grow footfall.
