£10k win in pub games
A couple have won £10,000 by playing pub quiz machines around the country. The Sun reports that Oxford graduates David and Lesley Brewis traveled 2000 miles to 500 different pubs to play quiz game The Big Match. The couple used the internet to track down the locations of the game around the country, and traveled to the pubs to win the jackpot. David said: “There is no cheating involved, no hidden gizmos, just good old-fashioned brains.” The couple insist that only £500 was spent on traveling and food and drink, and the biggest amount they paid into their bank account at one time was £4,900 – all in pound coins. The game has now been withdrawn from pub machines.
