Man bites panda
A drunken man bitten by a panda - bit it back. Zhang Xinyan had drunk four jugs of beer before entering Beijing Zoo. He staggered to the pen holding a sleeping 6-year-old male panda, Gu Gu. He jumped over the waist-high railing claiming he wanted to cuddle the animal.
Startled, the panda bit him the right leg. Zhang, a 35-year-old labourer from central Henan province, said: “I bit the fellow in the back. Its skin was quite thick. I just wanted to touch it. I was so dizzy from the beer. I don’t remember much.”
A spokeswoman for the Beijing Zoo said Gu Gu was “healthy and uninjured.” Zhang is due to make a full recovery.
