A cat got its head stuck in a jam jar while chasing a mouse – who was also in the jar. Mindy the cat was seen on the busy A47 near Peterborough with her head firmly wedged in the jar and her jaws millimetres away from a tiny field mouse.
The Peterborough Evening Herald reports that both animals were picked up by a driver and taken to a police station, but officers couldn’t remove the jar. In the end Mindy smashed the glass herself, and both animals escaped uninjured. “It was like a scene from Tom and Jerry,” said a bemused police spokesperson.
