Make like a tree... and get arrested
It’s the return of ‘stupid criminal showcase’ in today’s And Finally, this time brought to us by a resident of Manchester in New Hampshire.
Police in the northern state have arrested a man who robbed a bank disguised as a tree. In what must have seemed to him like a stroke of genius, the man taped branches and leaves to his body and waited patiently in the queue with the other customers. Unfortunately for him, his ‘camouflage’ failed to conceal his face, allowing the CCTV cameras to catch him in the act of ordering the cashier to fill a bag full of notes.
Sky News reports that a further stroke of bad luck hit on his way out, as a dye pack exploded over his cleverly constructed costume. He was later arrested at his home.
