Students strut their stuff for charity

Durham University students will be showcasing renowned designers at a charity fashion show this month. The show’s organisers aim to raise in excess of £15,000 for The Prince’s Trust.

Around 100 students from across the University are working with representatives from the charity, designers, and partners in the city to continue the charity’s work with new business start-ups in the North East. This year the event will be hosted at Durham’s Gala Theatre on 30 and 31 October with forty students modelling designer collections. This will be followed by a raffle, auction and after show party.

The fashion show has previously been covered by OK! Magazine, The Daily Mail, and The Daily Telegraph. BBC Newcastle, and regional and national press are expected to attend this year. Among the designer names on show will be Beau Bra, Crombie, All Saints, John Lewis and Jigsaw, as well as a designer fresh from London Fashion Week.

The show’s principle sponsor is Allen and Overy with Deloitte and Klute nightclub contributing to the £4500 already raised. Lots up for auction at the show, include Wimbledon debenture tickets, Anya Hindmarch designer handbags and luxury spa treatments, and the committee hope to raise as much as possible for the cause.

The show takes places over two days beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets will be priced between £5 to £35 and are available from The Gala Theatre, Durham on 0191 332 4041.
