Oxygen smell success in the air
An online marketing agency is expanding thanks to North East business support agency, Entrust. The Graduates for Business (GFB) programme, which is managed by Entrust, has helped five graduates from the region find full-time employment at Newcastle-based Oxygen Online Marketing.
Working in partnership with universities and other enterprise agencies, the Entrust GFB programme helps graduates to find employment in the region and assist small and medium sized enterprises in the search to find suitable candidates.
Managing director Neil Robbins added: “We’ll be looking to recruit again in the spring and I’ll have no hesitation in going back to Entrust and the GFB team. It is an excellent resource for accessing talented graduates and its relationship with the region’s universities is second to none.”
Oxygen Online Marketing now employs 10 staff, five of which are via the GFB programme, and has a turnover in excess of £1 million. This month the company has moved from its city centre offices to premises in the Maling Studios within the Hoults Estate, Newcastle.
Yvonne Gill, senior placement officer, from Entrust’s Graduate for Business programme said: “Graduates offer a wealth of knowledge and, in many cases, a refreshing alternative view, especially when it comes to areas like design, accountancy and marketing. “It’s important to remember that graduates are the life-blood of the region and it’s essential that we retain these highly skilled individuals to create a more competitive and sustainable SME base.”
