Apprentice causes 'franchise flashpoint'
The new series of The Apprentice will see a surge in demand for franchising, according to Domino’s Pizza. The franchise company reported sales enquiries rose by 50% when the series was shown last year, peaking the day after episode eight.
Domino’s predicts this year’s ‘franchise flashpoint’ will be on 14 May and has taken on additional personnel to cope with the anticipated extra demand during the 12-week show.
Andy Emmerson, business development director for Domino’s Pizza, said: “Since The Apprentice was first aired in 2005, Domino’s has seen a 10% year-on-year increase in enquiries about becoming a store owner. We think it’s great that mainstream TV is promoting entrepreneurialism and, if you are prepared to put in the hard graft, there are still lots of great career opportunities to be had and money to be made from running your own enterprise.”
