The Italian Mafia is thought to have played a part in the unusually large number of sales, seemingly moving on from the days of knock-off goods and booze smuggling, the mob have turned their hands to the Girl Scout cookie trade.
The father of the Girl Scout is Fabio Gunazzenti a local mafia don, whose fierce reputation is thought to have been the reason behind the sales. A neighbour of the family (wishing to remain anonymous) was quoted as saying, “I saw lots of people leaving the house at all hours of the night with boxes of cookies.”
