All â??go' for launch of new business website
Businesses across Wansbeck will soon have free access to business opportunities when a new online service launches this month.
The new website has been set up by the Procurement Centre in partnership with Go Wansbeck (the district’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative), Northumberland County Council and the North East Chamber of Commerce, to provide information, advice and guidance to the public sector and to local businesses.
The ‘Go Wansbeck Procurement Centre’ website will host two electronic systems: ‘TenderTap’, which will provide information about larger contracts, and ‘Opportunities Publisher’, which offers information to procurers about local suppliers and also publicises quotation opportunities.
The systems will be demonstrated at an event today open to businesses, social enterprises and community groups who are interested in doing business with the public sector. Attendees will have the opportunity to register and be shown how to use the systems.
Sinéad Moloney, Business Development Officer at the Procurement Centre, said: “We are inviting businesses across Wansbeck and South East Northumberland to register for the event. Interested businesses will simply need to visit the website www.go-tenders.co.uk, and register their details and area of expertise, to receive information about business opportunities both below and above £100k from the public sector.”
Stephen Birdsey, from software development company Nimis Ltd, will be demonstrating the new online service to attendees of the open day event. Stephen said: “The new website will be a quick, easy and effective way to provide businesses in Wansbeck with information about the wide range of public opportunities available to them, as well as helping the local public sector purchasers to identify and quickly source new and specialist suppliers.”
