Wine school goes nationwide
A North East PR firm has uncorked a winning formula to launch a Newcastle business’ franchises across the country.
Uniquethinking PR has been working with Chris Powell, owner of Newcastle Wine School, to raise awareness of its first franchise - the Birmingham Wine School. The firm employed a mix of news stories, regular wine columns, features, competitions and interviews in the daily, weekly and lifestyle media in the West Midlands.
The Birmingham franchise www.birminghamwineschool.com will replicate Newcastle Wine School’s range of services from one-off wine tasting evenings to ten week courses and corporate events, and the PR strategy will be rolled out to other cities in the coming months.
Sam Hook, managing director of Uniquethinking said: “This is an exciting time for Chris’s company and we were really pleased he chose us to help promote his franchise. As the Birmingham Wine School is the first of its kind dedicated to the West Midlands the media were very supportive and we generated a lot of interest surrounding the first event, which was a great success. The formula we chose worked well and we’re looking forward to the next city launch.”
Chris set up Newcastle Wine School in 2000 and following its success is hoping to launch more wine schools across the UK. He is currently looking for franchisees in Leeds and Edinburgh.
He said: “Having a franchise is a great opportunity because it allows the franchisee to run their own business within our already successful brand and with lots of support from people who are also running their own wine schools. The franchises are ideal for people who want to turn their lifelong love of wine into a career. With the help of Uniquethinking we will be able to accelerate awareness of each school launch.”
