Ray Mears to help North East businesses survive
Bushcraft expert Ray Mears will be sharing his survival secrets with North East businesses later this month at Service Network’s Survival 2008 conference.
Ray will be speaking at The Northern Stage on 16 October, exploring his ‘Robinson Crusoe’ approach to problem solving and, hopefully, encouraging businesses to think differently about survival in difficult economic times.
The conference as a whole will focus on adaptability, flexibility and turning difficulties into opportunities. Service Network believes that in the current economic climate, many North East businesses have an increasing need to simply survive and to think and work smarter for success in their market places.
Ray said: “It’s an honour to be invited to the North East for this conference. I’m delighted to see that Service Network has taken a different approach to the usual conference and I am really looking forward to hearing some of the North East’s business success stories and sharing my survival tips too. I want to encourage businesses to be motivated despite the credit crunch headlines - we all need to do more to free our instinct for survival.”
Dan Brophy, CEO of Entrust said: “The businesses we work with are entering challenging times and we are keen to continue our support during the economic slow down. This year’s conference is not focused on growth but instead around survival and success. Current business is about being practical and resourceful and we are delighted to have Ray Mears on board to bring our survival theme to life and make our conference compelling and inspiring.”
Other guests at the event include entrepreneur Dr Tony Flynn of Onyx Scientific Ltd, Newcastle Eagles player and coach Fabulous Flournoy, and author and business development guru David Hall. For more information about the conference, visit www.service-network.co.uk.
