Croatian mayor to resurrect rock star
Freddie Mercury has been asked to take part in a come back tour by the Zagreb mayor if he is re-elected.
Milan Bandic, the mayor of Croatia’s capital, was reportedly shocked that the Queen front-man had died 18 years ago, according to ananova.com.
Mr Bandic said: “I would like to see David Bowie play in Zagreb. And Freddie Mercury could come too.”
The gaffe caused shock among many Croatians, but Bandic was seemingly unhurt by his ignorance after he won the local by-elections to carry on as mayor.
If his plan works, however, he might be able to get John Lennon to join in.
