Beer named after Sir Bobby Robson
A unique tribute has been made to the memory of football legend Sir Bobby Robson in the shape of a special ale.
Bedlington-based Northumberland Brewery has created “Wor Bobby”, which is being distributed to pubs and clubs in the North East.
The brewery is also donating 1p from every sale to Sir Bobby’s Newcastle-based cancer foundation.
The beer sold out quickly after going on sale on Monday and second batch is now being produced.
Brewery founder Dave Roberts said: “Following the sad news of the death of Sir Bobby Robson, we decided to brew a special ale in his honour and to toast his extraordinary life and personality.
“Both on and off the field he has been an inspiration.”
