Cops become crash test dummies
Two police officers took a highpowered sports car for a spin after arresting its driver in the early hours - and wrote it off.
While waiting for a recovery truck, the pair climbed into the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII and fired it up.
Moments later the turbocharged, four-wheel drive car - which can do 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds - had ploughed through the gardens of two luxury homes and flipped on its side.
The officers, both male, were found inside the shattered yellow sports car, badly shaken with minor injuries. Now the pair have been suspended as their bosses launch an investigation.
