New business management firm launches
THREE experienced managers within the voluntary sector have joined forces in response to the ‘Big Society’ challenge laid down by the new coalition government.
Sue Anderson, Adrian Beadnell and Bernie Parks, who all individually run their own consultancy and training businesses, have jointly created the Centre of Excellence for Third Sector Management Training and Social Enterprise Development at Rigwood House, Saltburn-by-Sea.
Mr Beadnell, who has an MSc in Small Business Development, said: “A strong trend is developing, under the banner of the Big Society, whereby communities are being empowered to develop their own solutions to local social and economic issues.
“Our new business, run as a social enterprise, aims to provide practical training and on-going support in both management and business development skills to new and existing community organisations and businesses.”
The team, who already run ‘Be All You Can’ at Rigwood House, have been spurred on to develop this venture as recent research shows the need for such a facility specifically aimed at third sector organisations.
Sue Anderson added: “Based on our market research, and our many years of training experience, we are offering third sector organisations both accredited, through the Institute of Leadership and Management, and non-accredited bespoke training packages held either at our Saltburn based facilities or on an outreach basis”.
