Inventors drive into European market
TWO entrepreneurs will see their innovative range of parking systems rolled out across Europe this year after landing a major deal.
Three years ago Ken Riley and David Carr set up Park and Slide, in Blaydon, to market their range of slides and turntables, which enable drivers to fit two large vehicles into a standard garage.
Despite strong interest from several overseas parties and the backing of an American manufacturer, the products have so far been largely restricted to the USA and Canada.
The two inventors will now see their creations sold in the UK and over 20 European countries this year.
Ross Golightly, founder of Sphera Consulting, who were instrumental in helping secure the deal, said: “Park and Slide asked us to identify new distribution partners and to help build a distribution base for its products.
“We are now acting for Park and Slide in further discussions with other sub-distributors who we have identified in Ireland, Germany, Slovakia and Norway, and we plan during the year to look at interest shown from India and Australia.”
