Northumberland firm will grow globally
A NORTHUMBERLAND firm has made its way through the “Gateway for Global Growth” winning a string of new orders across South East Asia.
Solarglide Ltd, of Blyth, specialises in blinds for seagoing vessels, offshore rigs and other marine applications to combat solar glare for those working in the marine industry.
Now the company is celebrating a string of new orders including new sales from clients in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, which have added around £120,000 to the company’s turnover.
Paul Pringle, Commercial Director at Solarglide Ltd, said: “The G3 initiative has proved invaluable to Solarglide Ltd. We were able to access a variety of support in Asia Pacific which UKTI pointed us towards.
“We now have in place a multitude of great agents out there who are really hungry to support us. As a result of the new business we are moving into new premises in Durham, which will give us considerably more space to expand both the business and the product offering.”
The company has customers around the globe including major clients in Europe and the Middle East but was keen to explore the potential offered in South East Asia.
Solarglide signed up to UK Trade & Investment’s “Gateway for Global Growth” (G3) initiative which enabled it to seek out new customers and agents in the Pacific Basin catchment.
