New contact centre brings fresh employment
A new contact centre, which opens today in Sunderland, plans to create 250 jobs by the end of the year.
RevolutionCC is located in 6,000 sq ft of purpose designed office accommodation at e-volve - Sunderland City Council’s e-commerce and technology centre at Rainton Bridge South.
Fifteen staff have already been appointed and will begin their training today.
RevolutionCC ,Chief Operating Officer, Jim Bainbridge, said: “It’s fantastic to be launching a new business and creating new jobs in a region where people have so much desire for success, particularly given the economic climate, which is still tough for so many businesses.”
The call centre will handle both outbound and inbound calls and plans to have 70 staff in place by the end of the first trading quarter.
Plans for the launch of RevolutionCC, which has private backing, have been under development since July last year.
Cllr Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland City Council, added: “Sunderland has a lot to offer business investors in terms of location, facilities, advice and support, so we are delighted RevolutionCC is to be located here.
“It is very satisfying to see our discussions come to fruition today. We have high hopes that the business will play a major role in bringing back some of the many jobs lost to overseas contact centre operations and help maintain the North East’s reputation as a leading contact centre industry hub.”
