Survey results: Paternity problems
New paternity leave rules have come into effect meaning that parents will be legally entitled to share time off work during their baby’s first year.
We asked you whether you thought the plan would be damaging to small businesses, with 67.6% answering yes.
“To suggest this will damage business implies an assumption that men play a more important role in the workplace than women.
“It actually means that in couples where women are paid more than men - and presumably therefore have more responsibility in their job roles - those women have the option to be back at work sooner,” said one reader
