Garden firm grows workforce
A garden product manufacturer has revealed plans to create 50 new jobs with the help of North East recruitment firm TEMP-TEAM.
Mercia Garden Products, which supplies timber garden products, has launched the recruitment drive after being 30% ahead of its projected sales figures at this time of year.
The company which currently employs over 120 staff has enlisted the help of recruitment firm TEMP-TEAM to help secure temporary and permanent staff to fill roles in customer service and on the shop floor including assembly, packing and quality assurance at the 24 acre Sutton-On-Trent site.
Scott Conroy, commercial director at Mercia, said: “It’s been a tough time for manufacturing in the UK recently and we have had to diversify our product range to suit the economic climate which has helped us weather the recession extremely well.
“The early sales boost is fantastic news for the Company and the recent weather has certainly been a contributing factor to this success however we believe it’s the combination of quality British manufacturing, excellent customer service support and superb management that has enabled us to build a solid reputation with our clients.”
TEMP-TEAM’s managing director Julie Cummings said: “Mercia is looking for motivated, hard-working individuals preferably with a manufacturing background to join and make a speedy, positive impact on their business.”
