New jobs on their way to care home
Around 40 new jobs will be created in the North East this autumn with the opening of a new £3.3m care home extension.
The new jobs for nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, healthcare assistants and kitchen and domestic staff will be created at Belle Vue Care Home, Middlesbrough.
A total of 43 new beds will be created with the two-storey, 1,150 sq metre extension, which is due to open in September, comprising 16 assisted elderly living places and 27 in a pioneering new specialist unit for Young Chronic Sick people aged 18 and over.
Dr Dilip Acquilla, Belle Vue Care Home founder, said: “We are pleased to be expanding with this exciting new facility and creating new jobs at a time when the public sector is facing cut backs and unemployment is high.
“The Young Chronic Sick unit is a badly-needed facility which will cater for residents from throughout the North East.”
The extension is to be made possible after the care home gained financial support from Yorkshire Bank Tees Valley Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) through its Investing for Growth initiative.
Yorkshire Bank Tees Valley FSC business partner, Richard Jackson, who arranged the funding, said: “This exciting new extension will create badly-needed facilities and jobs for the North East, especially with the Young Chronic Sick unit.
“Yorkshire Bank is pleased to be providing funding and supporting private healthcare provision in the North East.”
