Call me back next month
When you are cold calling and someone says “Can you call me back in a month” it is basically a “I am not interested go away” response. You have a couple of responses to make you either shrug your shoulders and hang the phone up with a sigh or you try to initiate a conversation.
However it is difficult to strike up a conversation with someone who doesn’t want to talk to you. There are a couple of things you can do. The first is to agree a date. Don’t just say I will call you back in April say “How about the 23 April is that okay for you?” Your prospect will say it is fine and you set the date.
Then schedule the date in your contact management system. At the same time put in the summary and any important notes from the conversation. Forget about it until the 23rd April.
