Inaugural event explores role of digital in wider business landscape
Speakers from some of the region’s top digital businesses including The Graphene Institute, Formisimo, Wakelet and Fatsoma will meet in Manchester this month to discuss how digital technology is transforming the region’s business landscape.
The first event of its kind in the North, the Digital Revolution conference will spearhead a strategic goal for the region and sculpt a manifesto for the future of its digital sector.
Held by Manchester Digital - the North’s largest independent digital trade association - the event will consult with the organisation’s existing members and the wider industry on what is needed from both the regional and national Government and key players in the sector to cement future success.
It sets to explore the evolving role digital has played across the region in the past decade, as well as discussing barriers to growth. How Manchester fits in with the global digital landscape and the challenges facing start-ups are some of the other topics that will be visited by those taking part in the event next month.
Katie Gallagher, managing director of Manchester Digital, said: “By avoiding a top-down approach and joining businesses that are entrenched in Manchester’s digital sector and therefore experiencing issues first-hand, the Digital Revolution event will allow us to devise sensible solutions to barriers and drive growth in the sector.
“Our existing knowledge around the current eco system and the current issues and challenges facing the sector means our events are informative and solution-driven. We have some fantastic speakers lined up to discuss some vital topics so I’m confident it will be an extremely productive event.”
Digital Revolution will be held on 20.03.15 at The Comedy Store, Manchester. It is one of a series of events, workshops and conferences held by Manchester Digital this year.
