Exclusive interview with Bolton Wanderers’ hotel GM on branding, expansion and events
Bolton Whites Hotel is attached to Bolton Wanderers Football club, the hotel has 125 rooms with 19 of them overlooking the pitch.
Its turnover was £8 million for the last financial year and it employs over 400 people.
Recently it changed from a De Vere branded hotel to an independent hotel with a new management team, including general manager Suzanne Speak.
Suzanne spoke exclusively to Bdaily about the fun of holding large events and the pride she feels in her brand and the next project in the hotel.
She said: “We’re reliant on conference events however it’s truly dynamic and no two events are the same.
“We’ve done more events than ever, we recently did an Annie Mac event for over 3000 people
“The hotel is different and unique and you can see the team training from the rooms.
“The property has a national identity and a really strong brand.
“I’m really proud of the branding.
“We’re always working on something, at the moment we’re looking to refurbish the public area space in the hotel, we have a budget of around a quarter to half a million pounds.
“I love coming into work, the team never let me down. We have a lot of self pride and a lot of support.
“My favorite thing is the customer service aspect, I love working with people.”
