Data science consultancy Profusion expands to Dubai
Data science consultancy Profusion has announced that it has expanded to Dubai to help organisations capitalise on the growth in smart cities and wearable technology.
Profusion, which specialises in improving the relationships between organisations and people by using insights gained from data science, has begun its international expansion following a third consecutive year of revenue growth averaging 40%. Its clients include Sony Consumer Entertainment, Dixons Carphone, The Kingfisher Group and HSBC.
Dubai recently announced the ‘Smart City’ project and Initiative 2021 which aims to make the city one of the world’s best-connected by 2017. According to research by Transparency Market Research, the global smart cities market will reach an overall value of $1.265 billion in 2019.
Profusion aims to help Middle Eastern organisations use the data collected from wearable devices and the smart cities initiative to improve marketing campaigns, HR initiatives, business and customer intelligence, and planning.
Mike Weston, CEO of Profusion, said: “There is a massive appetite for data science, wearable devices and smart city technology in Dubai. By gathering and analysing the data gathered from these sources organisations can get unparalleled insights into the behaviour of their clients and customers. This will enable better communication, improved services and products, and greater efficiency.”
Profusion’s strong growth is on the back of a surge in demand for data science services from global organisations. The data science consultancy aims to expand its London office to 80 people by the end of 2015, with 12 in Dubai.
Mike Weston, added: “We see hiring as one of the greatest growth challenges. The skills gap in the UK is getting worse making it difficult to quickly hire quality staff. However, it is striking that we haven’t experienced this problem in Dubai.”
