Acquisition of Solberge Hall Hotel follows business turnaround period
Classic Lodgesâs acquisition of Solberge Hall Hotel near Northallerton was the culmination of a successful business turnaround by hotel management specialists Onecall Hospitality.
Appointed by Royal Bank of scotland in 2014, Onecall Hospitality began managing the hotel, which had been uneconomical for a number of years and had been placed in administration in 2011.
The Onecall team undertook a full appraisal of the business and made significant changes to bring the hotel back into profit.
The distinctive Grade II Georgian mansion, which is set in the country between the Yorkshire Dales and Vale of York, has 24 bedrooms, an award-winning restaurant and is a popular wedding and events venue.
Mark Chambers, director of Onecall, said: âSolberge Hall is a fabulous hotel with a strong reputation but had been struggling for a number of years due to failure to control costs and the effect of the recession.
âOver the last year, we have looked at all aspects of its operation and found ways to increase revenue, improve efficiency and bring the business back into profit in preparation for the sale. There is no doubt that Solberge Hall is a superb venue and offers a tremendous potential for the new owners.“
