Simon Jersey celebrates prestigious new accreditations
Altham-based uniform supplier Simon Jersey has been awarded with two prestigious industry accreditations, recognising a year-long effort to implement changes across the business.
Over last month the company has been assessed for and achieved both the OHAS 18001 accreditation for its Health and Safety Management System as well as the Investors in People (IIP) Bronze status for excellence in people management.
OHAS 18001 accreditation is given to companies that have implemented an effective health and safety management system, improving employees’ working environments and boosting operational efficiency.
Simon Jersey worked with local company, Salus Associates, to assess and improve health and safety across the company to meet the detailed requirements of the accreditation.
The Investors in People (IIP) Bronze standard recognises organisations that strive to inspire their teams for a sustainable and successful workforce. Although Simon Jersey has long been accredited by IIP, this is the first time the company has reached the Bronze standard, demonstrating the extra efforts it goes to in championing its team.
James Saunders, Simon Jersey managing director, said: “Both of these standards represent more than a year’s hard work. We’ve invested a lot of time and effort improving our systems, offices, warehouse and leadership to provide a great place to work and inspire our team to do their best.
“It’s fantastic to have our achievements recognised with these accreditations. It demonstrates to our people and those we do business with that we are committed to creating a safe and enjoyable place to work.”
