Sunshine Events Supports Cockermouth By Candlelight Festival
Lancashire based event management and fun equipment hire company Sunshine Events stepped in to support Cockermouth by Candlelight, helping people get back on their feet after the devastating floods earlier this month.
Sunshine Events donated an inflatable Santa’s Grotto and Christmas theming spreading a little more Christmas magic for the children and putting a smile on everyone’s faces.
The Cockermouth by Candlelight festival took place on Friday 11 December, with hundreds of people attending meeting on the Main Street in the town to show solidarity and a sense of community spirit.
The festival was host to Kirkgate Arts’ children’s lantern parade. It kicked off in good spirits with Santa and his sleigh being pulled by Cairngorm reindeer, providing a special treat for two children from Eaglesfield Paddle School. As the parade weaved its way through the town, as if by magic, it started to snow (or perhaps a little help from a couple of snow machines!)
James Sandwell, Director of Sunshine Events, said: “We are pleased to be able to contribute to such a deserving cause. The town and community really pulled together at a such a difficult time and have shown great strength and hopefully our small gesture will go some way to help those in need.“
Ruth Gildert, Event Organiser, said: “ The Event was a huge success and the very generous contribution from Sunshine Events made the evening extra special with so many families lining up to visit Santa in his grotto. To see so many smiling faces during such a difficult period for the town was wonderful & we are grateful for Sunshine Events professional & efficient service.“
All profits raised will be donated to the Cumbria 2015 Flood Appeal in an effort to support those flood victims and help clear up the damage caused.
