Top ranking for Silk in Legal 500 Guide
Silk Family Law retains its position as one of the North’s top family law firms with a top tier ranking in Legal 500 for the sixth year running.
The latest edition of the legal bible says that clients of the Newcastle and North Yorkshire-based boutique practice praise the ‘excellent, proactive, commercial, and effective’ 12 strong legal team.
All four of the firm’s partners are singled out by the guide, which highlights Silk’s strong breadth of expertise particularly with high-value and complex finance cases. Barrister Ian Kennerley and Margaret Simpson, a collaborative lawyer who regularly acts for farming and landowner clients, are named as ‘leading individuals’. Kim Fellowes is noted for her work on complex financial issues involving trusts, pensions and pre-acquired marital wealth. Wayne Lynn is profiled for his specialism in cohabitee disputes, drafting of cohabitation agreements, and pre and post-nuptial arrangements.
Ian Kennerley commented: “Being ranked as a top tier firm for the sixth successive year is a boost for everyone in the Silk team. This accolade is important because it is based on independent research that recognises both our legal expertise and our exceptional client service. We would like to thank all those clients and intermediaries who provided such positive feedback about us to Legal 500.”
Founded six years ago by Ian Kennerley and solicitors Kim Fellowes and Margaret Simpson, Silk has offices in Newcastle and North Yorkshire, as well as consulting rooms in York, Leeds and London.
