Oldham motorbike business creates 20 jobs with £100k NatWest funding
Used motorcycle dealer Carbay Limited is creating jobs in Oldham with the launch of its new bike workshop.
Carbay, which owns webuyanybike.co.uk and somanybikes.com, has doubled its trading capacity and plans to take on 20 new members of staff with the help of a £100k business loan.
The six-figure boost was provided by NatWest and used to acquire a new 10,000 sq ft bike servicing workshop on Holden Fold Lane, Royton.
As a result of the transaction, Carbay has freed up space at its Grape Mill retail premises to expand its sales team, ramp up its call centre operations and create additional showroom facilities.
Former second hand car dealer Gary Cheetham, who founded the business two decades ago with his wife and business partner Tracie, said: “Our success lies in giving our customers the very best service and the biggest selection of used bikes in the UK.
“Thanks to NatWest we are now able to help more prospective customers find the bike of their dreams and with our new space, train the next generation of motorcycle mechanics.”
Ash Richardson, a relationship manager with NatWest, commented: “Gary has a unique business model, focused on customer service and quality.
“The new workshop has enabled him to expand his business and create new job opportunities in the local area.”
