Sheffield hotel reopens after Hilton surrenders lease
It has been announced that a Sheffield hotel that closed late last year is reopening.
The Quays Hotel – formerly the Sheffield Hilton- has re-opened its leisure and health facilities.
Until December last year, Hilton managed the property on behalf of the owning company Stakis Hotels, which surrendered its lease resulting in the closure.
The closure was not linked to Hilton’s operation of the hotel.
The hotel will be reopened by Legacy Hotels & Resorts, an independent hotel management company.
Legacy Hotels & Resorts CEO, Andy Townsend, said: “This is the first step for an exciting new future for the hotel.
“We know how popular the leisure area was for people from Sheffield and we are delighted that the facilities are up and running again.
“The hotel is a well-established addition to our portfolio, and we expect that it will reopen over the next few weeks.
“Over the years the hotel has been popular with guests, diners and leisure facility users alike.
“It has tremendous potential where we will also seek to build on its popularity as an event location.”
