Ma-Hé, Blackhouse and Fléur, partner with First Table in Leeds

First Table, a restaurant discovery platform, has officially landed in Leeds, with Ma-Hé, Blackhouse and Fléur being some of the first of the city's restaurants to jump on board.

Bringing an exciting new way to dine to local foodies the platform offers 50% off the food bill at participating restaurants to customers who are happy to book the first table of the night.Having already taken off in Australia and New Zealand, First Table is also live in the UK with over 850 partner restaurants across 11 other UK cities, and is now bringing the concept to Leeds.

Diners can book the first table of the night, and enjoy 50% off the food bill for two to four people. It’s a delicious offer that introduces food lovers to fresh new spots while helping restaurants fill tables during quieter periods, a true win-win.

“There’s a reason Leeds is often called the unofficial foodie capital of the North,” says Mat Weir, CEO and founder of First Table. “The city thrives on its independent food scene: bold, experimental, and unafraid to blend traditional favourites with modern innovations.”

In Leeds, the dynamic food culture makes the dining scene feel like a true adventure. As Weir points out, this is what makes it the perfect place for First Table, “In a city that celebrates culinary creativity, a fresh way to dine fits right in.”

Diners pay a booking fee (between £4 and £8) to secure a First Table - which then gets them 50% off the food bill - while restaurants can join for free with no contracts or commission fees. This flexibility means more venues can get involved, giving diners a wider selection of great places to eat.

Welcoming Leeds diners to First Table are everything from aromatic Indian restaurants, colourful and experimental bistros, to pubs that elevate your feel-good British comfort food. Among the new venues on the platform for the launch date was Ma-Hé.

Championing the innovative culinary culture in Leeds is Ma-Hé in the city centre. The owner, Manoj Virma, shares his excitement over the launch, “We were excited to be one of the first venues on First Table in Leeds. With no sign-up cost, it was a no-brainer, a simple way to bring in more bookings during those quieter times and get the restaurant buzzing a bit earlier. It really helps set the pace for the rest of the day.”

“We’re looking forward to welcoming new faces who might not have discovered us otherwise,” Virma continues, “and we're curious to see how First Table shapes the dining scene in Leeds. It feels like something fresh is starting.”

Shannon Wilson, a local diner and food blogger at @dinedrinkandtravelwithme, who dined at Blackhouse recently with First Table "I loved my first experience booking dinner through the First Table app. First Table has made it so easy to discover and book some of Leeds’ best restaurants – and the 50% off the food bill feels like a reward for dining a little earlier,” she says “It meant we could really explore the menu the way the chef intended, adding starters and dessert without hesitation. I can’t wait to use the app again to try even more places across the city."

First Table began in Queenstown, New Zealand in 2014 and has since expanded across the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Today, the platform connects over 2,800 restaurants with a global community of more than two million diners
