Faru adds private dining to menu
A County Durham fine dining restaurant is expanding its offer after renewed demand from companies seeking high-quality, in-person hospitality experiences.
Michelin-recommended Faru Restaurant in Durham has launched a new private dining and corporate entertaining offer, responding to a revival in face-to-face business events and group celebrations.
Run by husband-and-wife team Laura and Jake Siddle, the restaurant has extended its tasting menu concept to give groups an exclusive, curated dining experience.
The move follows a strong summer and pre-Christmas trading period, with bookings from businesses across the UK, including firms travelling from London and using Durham as a central meeting point.
Jake, who is the head chef at Faru, which is located on Silver Street, said: “We had an influx of enquiries from corporates looking to host team celebrations and business lunches with us, as well as wanting to book Faru for client hospitality.
“We quickly realised after speaking with a number of law firms and other businesses which had inquired that we were missing a trick!”
The private dining experience mirrors the main restaurant’s flavour-led approach, with menus built around locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, alongside bespoke options and selected dietary accommodations.
While designed with corporate entertaining in mind, the offer has also attracted interest from individuals planning milestone celebrations.
Laura added: “Our private dining packages are designed to be informal, where guests can enjoy the theatre of the open plan kitchen, and relax with exceptional food, wine and company.
“It’s a dining experience that feels personal and memorable, rather than a standard event package.
“We’ve even hosted a few birthday parties, and we plan to do more, as well as small, intimate wedding dinners in 2026.”
