Help wanted for sport funding
In an effort to improve training and funding for sport, Sport England North East is asking the sporting, fitness and outdoors workforce to complete a questionnaire – and at the same time win VIP tickets to sports events. By completing the questionnaire, workers in the sector will help provide information needed to locate skill gaps and training needs where future funding can be directed to.
Judith Rasmussen, regional director with Sport England North East, said: “It’s important for as many people as possible who work in sport to contribute their thoughts and information to this survey. With this, we can target areas, and organisations, with the help they need, whether this is funding, training or educational opportunities. “We’re excited to start implementing what will be a very informative plan and one that will also go a long way to bringing the region to its sporting best.”
Every person who fills out the questionnaire, on behalf of their organisation, is automatically entered into a free competition with prizes including two tickets to this summer’s test match at Chester-le-Street, four VIP tickets to a Newcastle Vipers home match and four courtside tickets to see the Newcastle Eagles. And all those that respond by the 23rd of February will receive a £20 voucher towards their organisation’s training needs.
The survey takes 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed at Sport England North East’s website: www.sportengland.org/northeast_index. For all other enquiries or if you need help completing the questionnaire, contact 0870 770 5148.
