Head of Digital
Newcastle-based creative agency, The bgroup, is looking for a new Head of Digital. The successful candidate must be passionate about technology and the web, and must have a solid background in digital or web (at least 6 years) – ideally as a programmer but also with project management experience.
The role will involve leading a team of excellent web designers and developers; managing large web projects from initial scoping through to delivery; and assisting The bgroup’s Directors in technology strategies for the future of the business. Some hands-on programming may be required if you can’t bear to let this go, but this will depend on the skill set and experience of the successful applicant.
He or she must also be able to communicate effectively with clients, assist in the thought processes around a site’s information architecture, and create clear project plans to ensure delivery on time and on budget. The successful candidate will therefore have excellent organisational and project management skills, coupled with first-hand understanding of the work involved in developing large scale web projects.
Many of the web projects developed by The bgroup are part of (and often underpin) large regional and national campaigns –this role is a real opportunity to be a key thinker within this wider creative process and to see your digital ideas have a real and immediate impact in the marketplace.
The bgroup mainly uses industry-standard open source technology in our projects: PHP, Javascript, Apache and MySQL (along with all the current TLAs, like AJAX, XSLT and SMS), and high quality HTML and CSS for design.
Candidates with commercial awareness, professional ambition, and a passion for all things digital should apply to diane@thebgroup.co.uk, with examples of work, by Friday 7 September. Salary dependant on experience.
