Roaming roadshow comes to Wallsend
Gaining and retaining customers will be amongst a number of topics up for discussion at a Hadrian’s Wall Country Roaming Roadshow event at Segedunum Roman Fort on Tuesday 4 September 2007. Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd, the organisation responsible for the protection, development and marketing of the Wall is going on the road throughout September and October, hosting a series of Roadshows to discuss future plans for the World Heritage Site.
The organisation is encouraging all tourism related businesses to attend one of these events and find out how Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd can offer business support and guidance.
Linda Tuttiett, Chief Executive of Hadrian’s Wall Heritage, said: “This is a unique opportunity for us as an organisation to meet lots of interested businesses and individuals who both live and work in Hadrian’s Wall Country. We’re very eager to tell people about what we’ve been up to and our future plans, but we really want to listen to people’s opinions and ideas. By staging a number of networking events along the Wall we can reach out to as many interested parties as possible and I encourage all tourism businesses to attend an event in their area.”
Guest speaker, Geoff Ramm from Mercury Marketing, will open the first event at Segedunum Roman Fort on 4 September between 6-8pm. His talk will focus on best practice and marketing tactics for encouraging new and repeat visits in the tourism sector. Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd will also be revealing details of the World Heritage Site management plan - a five-year framework including issues such as the Wall’s protection, promotion and educational use.
