Call for expert enterprise help
An enterprise guru is coming to Wansbeck in September to seek out the entrepreneurs of the future and is looking for successful business people in the area to help him.Â
Iain Scott is creator of the Enterprise Island Challenge, a programme developed to show that anyone can be taught to think like an entrepreneur and set up a business, which has helped more than 1,000 people over the past 15 years all over the UK unlock their enterprise potential - resulting in the creation of hundreds of new entrepreneurs and businesses.
Now Iain has been invited by “Go Wansbeck” - Wansbeck’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative programme - to run an Enterprise Island Challenge in the district. He needs volunteers from the local business community to help him decide who should be chosen to take part. Iain said: “The auditions stage of the Enterprise Island Challenge has been described as one big fun conversation. Aspiring entrepreneurs come before an expert panel and ‘pitch’ their business ideas to us with the aim of being chosen to take part in the Challenge. “I need local entrepreneurs to join me on the panel to help decide which 10 candidates have what it takes to go forward and would benefit most from this opportunity.”
The Wansbeck Enterprise Island Challenge auditions will be taking place between 10am-6pm at Movies, Bedlington on Tuesday 11 September, the Leisure Centre, Ashington on Wednesday 12 September and Newbiggin Sports Centre, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea on Thursday 13 September.
If you would like to join Iain Scott on one of the selection panels, contact Darren Smith, Enterprise Island Challenge programme director for further information on 0845 838 1282 or email darren@enterpriseisland.com. For more information about enterprise island, visit www.enterpriseisland.com.
