Hexham hotel takes technology lead with Myzones
A North East hotel has become the latest in an international chain to adopt technology which provides wireless Internet access to guests whilst also boosting business. The Best Western Beaumont Hotel in Hexham has implemented the MyZones WiFi system throughout the hotel, giving guests with wireless-enabled laptop computers, PDAs or games consoles free access to the Internet.
The hotel is located in the centre of the Northumberland market town, and is predominantly used by business travellers, although it does also welcome tourists from both the UK and overseas.
Martin Owen, Beaumont Hotel manager, said: “Wireless Internet access is now provided throughout the hotel, including to all our guest rooms, conference suites and public areas, such as the bar, lounge and reception. “Our guests have universally found the system simple to use and dealing with the Myzones team around the system’s installation and commissioning was a painless process - we believe we now have a significant advantage over our local rivals which could well play a significant role in persuading customers to choose to stay with us.”
Bob Cleary, Business Development Manager at MyZones, said: “MyZones is suitable for a wide range of organisations, from hotels and business centres to professional service firms and multi-tenant residential accommodation. “All of these, and many other industries have an increasing need to provide Internet connectivity to their customers, and our service can be tailored to meet each one’s individual requirements, as we have successfully done for the Beaumont Hotel.”
