Law tutor courts new business
A former college law lecturer is courting new business after starting her own company. Toks Fajemirokun, from South Shields, set up Legal Solutions in November 2007 after teaching in colleges and voluntary community groups around the region for five years.
The business specialises in law tuition including help with examination, study and revision skills. Legal Solutions also runs law courses in the community and distance-based learning for anybody from A-Level and university students to professional practitioners. Toks, who has a masters degree in law and a postgraduate teaching qualification decided to set up the business in order to get more freedom for herself and spend more quality and creative time with her students.
She said: “I really wanted to create an environment where I could offer extra support to my students and not be restricted by marking and paperwork. Removing these obstacles and freeing up time allows me to develop more creative ways for my students to learn.
“Obviously, to some degree, running a business is about making profit and I hope that this venture will allow me to earn enough of an income to sustain a good standard of living. But the main reason for setting up the business is to provide a service to local students and members of the community where they can gain a tailored, creative and interactive learning experience in a friendly atmosphere.”
Toks has already built up a client base of regular students and classes and she’s hoping to build on the early interest. For more information on Legal Solutions contact Toks on 07951 080 252.
