Designs on international trade
North East firms in the design and creative industries sector are being invited to find out how they can broaden their horizons at a special event in Harrogate next month.
UK Trade & Investment in the North East and Yorkshire have joined forces with British Design Innovation (BDI) and China Bridge International to host the “International Design Seminar” at Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate on Wednesday 4 February.
The event focuses on design consultancies working in the arenas of branding, commercial interiors, product design, digital design and packaging that are looking to expand overseas.
Key speakers at the event will include:
- Christine Losecaat, UK Trade & Investment’s Sector Champion for Design and Creative Industries - will ask “Why look overseas for business?” highlighting what and where the opportunities are
- Cathy Huang, China Bridge International - will give an overview of design in China, how design is bought and valued by business in China
- Andy James Lee and Dina Guth, Tecatech, a British design and innovation company - will share their experience of setting up and running an office in Shenzen
- Gary Hunt, UK Trade & Investment’s Creative Industries Unit - will provide details of what advice and support is available to companies.
