Two-fifths of resignations due to 'bad management'
Almost 50% of staff who resign from their jobs do so because they disagree with their company’s management style, according to a poll by BT Business.
Research carried out by BT shows that 42% of employees left their last jobs because they felt that their managers used outdated management methods and that they were constantly supervised.
25% of respondents stated that the use of management styles which constantly evaluate staff are detrimental, and do not encourage them in their career development and prospects.
Robin Mackenzie, Marketing Director of BT Business said: “Things have to become much more collaborative and trusting, and managers then have to trust their people to then deliver on the things that they’re there to do. The second thing is to make sure that you use the solutions and technologies available to you - we are now, in this modern age, always available for contact. It’s about building a new communications style that works for both parties.”
