North East shows off Culture for Success
Companies from across the region gathered to celebrate their successful working cultures last week.
Service Network’s Culture for Success Awards received a record number of applications from companies looking to demonstrate the vital role employees play in their success.
After weeks of consideration by a panel of judges, the winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday evening.
Entrants were judged against four criteria; staff development, customer service, business growth and contribution to the region, and judged in categories according to the number of employees.
Overall winners Gateshead College were considered to be outstanding by a panel of North East professionals, who praised the college for living up to its “Outstanding” Ofsted report in its culture, and whose staff and students show “obvious pride” in their work and college.
The category winners were Northern Stage, Ryder Architecture, and Northumbrian Water.
Andrew Dixon, NGI Chief Executive, judge, and compere on the night, said: “These are great awards; they are about the people who make companies work. In such difficult economic times it is those companies who recognise the impact that good employees have on customer service and profitability, that will not only survive the recession but accelerate out of it.
“The companies shortlisted have demonstrated the key ingredients required for a successful culture and we should be extremely proud to have them on our doorstep.”
